At Missoula Valley Forest School we offer outdoor nature-based classes for children from ages 5-14. Our classes run from fall to spring and are designed to support homeschooling families or other nontraditionally educating families.

It is so hard to put into words everything that Forest School has been to our family! As a homeschool family, Forest School has given the parents a much-needed break from worrying about our kids. We know they are safe, learning new things, building connections, and having fun. Our eldest has been going to Forest School for the past 4 years and it fills his bucket in a way nothing else can. He truly is free in the Forest and loves creating all kinds of games with his friends. He has also learned so much about the plants and animals there, and it has taught him to truly care about the natural world. His younger brother was very excited when he was old enough to join him and has enjoyed Forest School in his own way, preferring to make feasts at the mud kitchen and art under the tarp. We are so grateful that our kids get to grow up with this kind of experience and especially grateful for their kind and patient teachers for bringing MVFS to our community!
